Guru Jambheshwar University Entrance Test

Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology was established on 20th October, 1995 at Hisar, Haryana. The Varisity at present boast of 45 Regular Programmes on Campus including B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharma, M.Pharma, B.Physiotherapy, M.Physiotherapy, M.Sc, M.B.A, M.Com and M.C.A. etc. with Ph.D. degree programme in all the Departments. It also offer 17 Programmes through Distance Mode. These Distance Education Programmes stand approved by the joint committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC.  The university conducts an entrance test for admission to its various programs

Guru Jambheshwar University Application Process

  1. Candidates are required to apply Online by logging on to the official website www.gjust.ac.in. The application form has to be filled and submitted online. Hence, the candidates are neither required to send any document/certificate in support of their eligibility nor a printout of their Application Form is required.

Total Marks: 100
Duration: 1� hours
Question Type: objective type multiple choice questions with one correct answer.

N.B.: There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

For admission to the Dual Degree Courses, candidate shall have the option to choose one set of subjects for common entrance test from the following:-

(a)    Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
(b)    Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Candidate are required to report at the concerned examination centre/ Department at least half an hour before the commencement of the Entrance Test.

Guru Jambheshwar University Sports Weightage
A special relaxation upto 5 marks will be given to the candidates who is a sports person and have won 1st or 2nd or 3rd position at the state/National/University Level Tournament.

However, relaxation of marks shall be given for admission to M.Tech./ M.Pharm./ MBA programmes if seats are to be filled by GATE / GPAT/CAT/ CMAT qualified candidates. The candidates, claiming admission through sports quota, should submit the relevant certificates issued by the Director of Sports of Haryana State or any other officer authorised by the State Govt. stating their grade to the Chairperson of the concerned department before conduct of Entrance Test. Certificate from any other source will not be accepted.

The weightage of marks of different categories of Sports persons will be as under:-

The games, which will be considered for weightage under this category, are as follows:

GAMES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS:
Athletics including Cross-Country, Badminton, Basket ball, Cricket, Cycling, Gymnastics, Hockey, Kho-Kho, Shooting, Swimming including Water-polo and Diving, Tennis, Table Tennis, Volley ball, Hand ball, Kabaddi of National Style, Football, Chess, Boxing (Free style), Judo and Weight-lifting.

GAMES FOR BOYS ONLY:
Boxing, Best Physique, Wrestling (Free-style).

Guru Jambheshwar University Selection Process

The Selection of a candidate for admission to a programme in Guru Jambheshwar University Departments and affiliated Colleges/ Institutes will be based on the merit list drawn on the basis of the score in the Entrance Test subject to fulfilling other conditions as given in the Prospectus.

The admission in the PG Diploma in Guidance & Counseling will be made only on the basis of academic merit of the qualifying examinations.

For admission to M.Tech. / M.Pharm. programmes, candidate(s) with valid GATE/ GPAT score respectively and for Admission to MBA Programmes in University Teaching Departments with CAT Score 2016 with minimum cut off 40 percentile for all categories except SC candidates of Haryana where relaxation of 5% is allowed (38 percentile for SC candidates of Haryana) and for MBA Programme in affiliated Colleges/ Institutes with any valid CMAT conducted by AICTE in January, 2017 will be given preference.

The candidates are (aspirating to take admission in affiliated Colleges/ Institutes only) for MBA programme only not required to appear in the Entrance Test conducted by the University, but they are required to apply Online by logging on the University website. However, if seat remains vacant the admission will be made on the basis of academic merit of the qualifying examination.

It is only after all the sanctioned seats against the reserved category have been filled through GATE/ GPAT candidates, and the candidate with valid GATE/GPAT score, who could not get admission because of no vacancy in the respective reserved category, if appeared in the entrance test, may be considered against the seats (left vacant or converted from reserved category to general category) of general category as per merit of the entrance test.

(I)    If two or more candidates secure identical total score in GATE/ GPAT/ CAT (CMAT score in case of MBA affiliated Institutes/ Colleges) or fall at the same rank in the entrance test plus sports weightage, if any, the merit will be drawn as under:-
(a)    in case all such candidates have the proof of passing their qualifying examination, the merit will be drawn in order of their percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.
(b)    In case any of such candidate do not have the proof of passing his/her qualifying examination or all have secured identical marks in qualifying examination, the candidate older in age will be preferred.

(II)    For admission to Dual degree B.Sc. (Hons.)- M.Sc. courses, the merit list of common entrance test will be drawn as under:-
(i)    Dual Degree B.Sc. (Hons) Mathematics- M.Sc. (Mathematics)
Combined Merit in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of common entrance test.
(ii)    Dual Degree B.Sc. (Hons) Physics- M.Sc. (Physics)
Combined Merit in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics OR Physics, Chemistry, Biology of common entrance test.
(iii)    Dual Degree B.Sc. (Hons) Chemistry- M.Sc. (Chemistry)
Combined Merit in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics OR Physics, Chemistry, Biology of common entrance test.
(iv)    Dual Degree B.Sc. (Hons) Biotechnology- M.Sc. (Biotechnology)
Combined Merit in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology of common entrance test.
(a)    Further, if two or more candidates secure identical marks/ rank in the common entrance test conducted by the University for Dual Degree B.Sc. (Hons.)- M.Sc. courses, then the marks obtained in the subject Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biology of the qualifying examination will be considered first for admission to Dual Degree B.Sc. (Hons)- M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biotechnology courses respectively.
(b)    In case any of such candidate do not have the proof of passing his/her qualifying examination (marks of Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biology) or all have secured identical marks in subject of Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biology of qualifying examination, the candidate older in age will be preferred.

(III)    No weightage of Sports shall be given once the merit list is finalized.
